Frequently asked questions
For piano lessons, we typically recommend waiting until a child is at least 5 or 6 and can easily recognize symbols, letters and numbers. Please note that your child will be expected to focus for at least a 30 minute lesson.
For voice lessons, the answer is a little more complicated. Many students start around the age of twelve, but we've had interested students as young seven. Since the voice takes years to develop physically, many voice lessons for anyone younger than 12 or 13 will be primarily focused on general music (learning to read music, learning solfege/sight singing etc.). Our main focus is to instill a healthy, age appropriate singing technique.
